Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him. Isaiah 43:7
If you ever want to go on an adventurous spiritual journey, try asking God what He means by “created for My glory!” Think about it! You were created for His glory; not for the sake of your parents, not for your sake, but for His Name’s sake. It won’t take you an eternity to understand what God means, but the impact will be everlasting…an everlasting lifetime.
A good first step would be to talk with Moses! Why? Because Moses wanted to know about God’s glory also; and one day he asked God, “Please, show me Your glory.” God immediately replied, sharing with Moses that His glory had everything to do with His name, His reputation, His goodness, His tendency for being gracious and showing compassion. See Exodus 33:12-23; 34:5, 6 for the exciting details. God’s glory is God’s character.
So! You were created for God’s character. How so? Let’s go back to Isaiah 43! This time let's read verse 10 and 11:
11 I, even I, am the Lord, And besides Me there is no savior.”
When you connect this verse with verse 7…Voila! You were created to be a “Character Witness” in God’s behalf. Character witness, a noun, is briefly defined, “a person who attests to another’s moral conduct and good reputation in a court of law”. (© Oxford University Press) Now repeat after me, “I am going …” Come on repeat after me, “I am going to attest to God’s moral conduct and good reputation in a court of law.” Yes, we were created to attest to God’s character. When? What court of law? Is there some sort of judgement coming? As a matter of fact, there is! John spoke of it in the book of Revelation, Chapter 14, verses 6 and 7:
7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”
Did you notice that the verses spoke of “His judgment”? Sounds like a ‘court of law’ to me.
So let’s think about this, if your character, your thoughts, words, feelings, and behavior were to give full witness to God’s character, would God be found guilty of being good, gracious, compassionate, and just. Does everything about your life sing out (Revelation 15:2 – 4),
4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.”
One day, that will be the song, the song of Moses, sung by those who have gotten the victory. We, at East Wake Fellowship, are focused on preparing a people to sing that song; you might say that we are conducting a rehearsal. We invite you, come let us rehearse together; we believe with all our heart “Jesus is coming soon!”
